Our first tutoring took place in April, when students from the University of KwaZulu-Natal were collected by taxi and transported to Mariannridge Senior Secondary School. The tutors (also known as The Legends) were welcomed by the deputy head, Mr Patrik Thomas, and Rotarians Prof Thomas Konrad and Deon Delport.
The tutors were introduced to the assembled learners and assigned to tutor various grades, from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Every Saturday during the term, the tutors revise the work done in class by learners who are studying pure mathematics.
There are two sessions. Between sessions the tutors are provided with a packed lunch, fruit, cool drinks and coffee.

Tutors and learners quickly got down to revision of the class work
